Last week I sent out an all-call discussing our concern for the number of students who are failing classes because of missing assignments or not completing their work. First of all, I want to thank all of the students who have worked so hard this week to either maintain the great grades they already have or worked hard by turning in their work or by getting help this week to bring their grades back up. We are still very early in the semester and it is never too late to improve your grades! I wanted to remind both our students and our parents that this week Progress Reports will be going out to any student who has a D or an F. We encourage students and families to be checking their grades regularly through InfoNow which can be accessed at the bottom of the district website. In addition to this week’s Progress Reports and student and parental access to InfoNow, starting next week, HAHS will also be mailing home comprehensive progress reports at the end of every week to the parents of students who have an F in any of their classes. The comprehensive report will show the grades for each of the student’s classes as well as all of their points for assignments and any missing assignments or work up until that point. We hope that this will add an additional layer of support and communication for our students and parents as we work together to make sure all of our students are passing and graduate on time. Again, we always encourage students (whether in-person students or remote learning students) who are struggling or in need of additional help to please be in continual contact with your teachers. Teachers are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday during remote learning time from 1:00-3:50 pm and they are available on Wednesday from 8:00-3:50. Both in-person and remote learning students have the ability to set up appointments with teachers during these times to come in for one on one instruction, set up a phone call, or to set up a virtual meeting through Google Meets. The high school staff is here for you to help you in any way they can to help all of our students to be successful. #CornjerkerPride

This is just a reminder that next Friday, September 18th progress reports will be mailed home to any student who has a D or F in any of their classes.  As we have progressed through the first weeks of school, staff have noticed that many students have missing assignments or are not completing their work.  Please remember students are accountable for the work they turn in and all of their grades in class.  Students who fail classes will not be gaining the credits they need and could risk no longer being on track to graduate with the rest of their class. We encourage students and families to be checking their grades regularly through InfoNow which can be accessed at the bottom of the district website.  We also encourage students (whether in-person students or remote learning students) who are struggling or in need of additional help to please be in continual contact with your teachers.
