HAMS Families: In honor of Red Ribbon Week (next week) we are going to have simple theme days. Each day we will ask students to wear a special color that goes along with our drug-free message for the day. Please see the photo for the daily themes and colors. HAMS Families: Just a reminder that each week of remote learning students need to login to the Middle School Office classroom and answer an attendance question. If you have questions about this, please contact the MS office.
HAMS Families: Teen Reach will be cancelled until Friday, October 9th. We apologize for any inconvenience.
HAMS Families: Picture retakes for remote learners will be October 13th at 9:30 AM in the HS auditorium. Masks will need to be worn inside the building, but they may be removed while the children are getting their pictures taken. In person learners will also have retakes on the 13th while they are at school. Please call the MS office if you have any questions. Thank you!

The staff of Hoopeston Area Middle School went into the community to provide support for students. It was a great day out in the wonderful community of Hoopeston. Feel free to inquire about HAMS Wednesday Adventures at 217-283-6664.
HAMS Parents: If you like more support navigating Google Classroom or any other website your children are using for remote learning, please contact the MS office to schedule an appointment.
HA Families: This Saturday, from 9-10:30am, there will be a food distribution at the Rantoul Community Center (520 E Wabash). Free groceries will be handed out curbside. This event is hosted by St Paul's Lutheran Church. All workers will be wearing masks and all recipients are asked to wear masks as well. Please spread the word to anyone who may need food assistance.
HAMS Families: In an effort to help meet the needs of our Middle School students, every Wednesday, beginning on September 16th, a group of teachers from the Middle School will venture out into the community. The teachers will spend one hour at each of the locations identified below. The purpose of the visit is to assist with homework, answer questions about technology, and visit with the students.

To the parents/guardians of HAMS Remote learners: Please remember to have your child login to the MS Office Remote Classroom (code: c6sgscs) at least once each week. There will be a weekly attendance question they must answer every week to be counted as "present" at school for the week. Thank you!
6th Grade band members:
Students in sixth grade who will be participating in band have had their first lesson. Information about band was sent home with students. Please review the materials and sign and return the handbook and order form. Please contact Mrs. Mandel if you have any questions.
6th Grade Chorus
Any 6th grader still interested in signing up for 5/6 Grade Chorus needs to contact Ms. Morgeson as soon as possible. Students need to sign up for a vocal placement session on Tuesday, September 8th or Thursday September 10th. Times are from 1:15-4:00 pm. Students can sign up for any time between those hours. If that time does not work for you or your family, Ms. Morgeson is happy to arrange for a different time! A handbook also needs to be picked up and signed/turned in to Ms. Morgeson by your vocal placement session. The first rehearsal is Tuesday September 15th, 7:20 am at John Greer under the white tent.

Names of children receiving meals and which pickup location you will use. Hoopeston High School, East Lynn Fire Station, Wellington Post office or Rankin Lion's Club. Pick up time will be Wednesday evenings 5-6 pm. Thank you!
