HAMS Families: In an effort to help meet the needs of our Middle School students, every Wednesday, beginning on September 16th, a group of teachers from the Middle School will venture out into the community. The teachers will spend one hour at each of the locations identified below. The purpose of the visit is to assist with homework, answer questions about technology, and visit with the students.
Locations/Schedule:
8:30-9:30 Rankin Lions Club
10:00-11:00 East Lynn Church Basement
11:30-12:30 Wellington Lions Club Park Shelter [northeast side of town]
1:00-2:00 McFerren Park @ Jaycee Pavilion [by the playground]
This is a support specifically for our Middle School students. We do ask that all those in attendance at these sessions wear a mask. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Middle School office at 217-283-6664.
To the parents/guardians of HAMS Remote learners: Please remember to have your child login to the MS Office Remote Classroom (code: c6sgscs) at least once each week. There will be a weekly attendance question they must answer every week to be counted as "present" at school for the week. Thank you!
6th Grade band members:
Students in sixth grade who will be participating in band have had their first lesson. Information about band was sent home with students. Please review the materials and sign and return the handbook and order form. Please contact Mrs. Mandel if you have any questions.
6th Grade Chorus
Any 6th grader still interested in signing up for 5/6 Grade Chorus needs to contact Ms. Morgeson as soon as possible. Students need to sign up for a vocal placement session on Tuesday, September 8th or Thursday September 10th. Times are from 1:15-4:00 pm. Students can sign up for any time between those hours. If that time does not work for you or your family, Ms. Morgeson is happy to arrange for a different time! A handbook also needs to be picked up and signed/turned in to Ms. Morgeson by your vocal placement session. The first rehearsal is Tuesday September 15th, 7:20 am at John Greer under the white tent.

Names of children receiving meals and which pickup location you will use. Hoopeston High School, East Lynn Fire Station, Wellington Post office or Rankin Lion's Club. Pick up time will be Wednesday evenings 5-6 pm. Thank you!

HA students and parents: There will be basketball skills sessions for any boys grades 5-8 on July 20-24 and July 27-31 from 10-12 in the MS gym. There is no cost; all students should bring their own drink and towel. #CornjerkerPride

Reminder to HAMS families: Chromebook turn in will be Tuesday (5/26) and Wednesday (5/28) from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please enter at the west end of the parking lot and follow the bus drive. Students will receive their items from their lockers, as well as, their awards envelops.

Current 8th graders: If you haven't already, please get your orange schedule requests to the MS or HS office by May 1st. You will not be allowed to change your schedule in the fall unless a teacher requests it.
HAMS families: Remote learning will continue through the week of May 18th. All work will need to be turned in by May 21st. Curbside chromebook drop off will be on May 26th and 27th. Students will be given the contents from their lockers at this time. Stay tuned for more info.
