HAMS is so proud of this week's honorees for remote learner of the week. We only have one picture to share right now, but it's of a very dedicated student, who couldn't deserve this honor more.

HAMS Families: HAMS teachers will be at the Rankin Lions Club for homework help from 8:30-10:30 AM tomorrow.

HAMS Families: Teen Reach will dismiss at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25th.

Hoopeston Area Middle School Families, due to lack of numbers at our Wednesday homework help sessions, we will be adjusting our schedule. Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, November 11th, we will only travel to the Rankin Lion's Club. HAMS staff will be there from 8:30-10:30 AM. If your child needs assistance from staff members on Wednesday, and they live outside of Rankin, please call the school to make arrangements. Also, our teachers are still available for help at the school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:30-3:30 and all day on Wednesday. Please call the office or email in advance, so we can make sure someone is available to provide your student with the attention and support they deserve.

HAMS Families: Teen Reach will be cancelled for the remainder of the week.

7th and 8th graders were using an egg drop to discuss kinetic and potential energy today in Mrs Schoonover’s class. We had two that did not break!

HAMS Families: Unfortunately the HAMS teachers will not be coming out into the community this week to provide homework help. We will restart this next week (11/4). However, students may still come into the school by appointment to receive help with homework. Please email your teachers or call the school to set up an appointment.

HAMS Families: In honor of Red Ribbon Week (next week) we are going to have simple theme days. Each day we will ask students to wear a special color that goes along with our drug-free message for the day. Please see the photo for the daily themes and colors. Thank you, HAMS, for choosing to be drug-free!

There will be a Cheer Interest meeting for any HAMS Students that are interested for the 2020-2021 Season. The meeting will be at 7:50 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020 in Mrs. Young’s Classroom (6th Grade Hallway).

We hope that this message finds you well. We ask that you view and read the attached image for important updates on Fall 2020 Parent-Teacher Conferences for HAMS. Thank you in advance for your understanding as we team together through the challenges of the school year.

HAMS Families: Just a reminder that each week of remote learning students need to login to the Middle School Office classroom and answer an attendance question. If you have questions about this, please contact the MS office.

HAMS Families: Teen Reach will be cancelled until Friday, October 9th. We apologize for any inconvenience.

HAMS Families: Picture retakes for remote learners will be October 13th at 9:30 AM in the HS auditorium. Masks will need to be worn inside the building, but they may be removed while the children are getting their pictures taken. In person learners will also have retakes on the 13th while they are at school. Please call the MS office if you have any questions. Thank you!

HAMS families: This is a reminder that HAMS teachers will be stationed at various locations around the community tomorrow to help with homework if students need it. Our schedule will be as follows: 8:30-9:30 Rankin Lions Club 10:00-11:00 East Lynn Church Basement 11:30-12:30 Wellington Lions Club Park Shelter [northeast side of town] 1:00-2:00 McFerren Park @ Jaycee Pavilion [by the playground] This is a support specifically for our Middle School students. We do ask that all those in attendance at these sessions wear a mask.

HAMS parents, please make sure your children know that they should not be playing on Honeywell school grounds. Thank you!

The staff of Hoopeston Area Middle School went into the community to provide support for students. It was a great day out in the wonderful community of Hoopeston. Feel free to inquire about HAMS Wednesday Adventures at 217-283-6664.

HAMS Parents: If you like more support navigating Google Classroom or any other website your children are using for remote learning, please contact the MS office to schedule an appointment.

HA Families: This Saturday, from 9-10:30am, there will be a food distribution at the Rantoul Community Center (520 E Wabash). Free groceries will be handed out curbside. This event is hosted by St Paul's Lutheran Church. All workers will be wearing masks and all recipients are asked to wear masks as well. Please spread the word to anyone who may need food assistance.
