Hoopeston Area Families,
Hoopeston Area Schools is excited to announce part 2 of our Building Your Village series. For this session, we will be partnering with the Regional Office of Education to provide parents with strategies to add to their toolboxes to help their children cope with anxiety.
We will be meeting again at the Hoopeston Multi Agency on November 4th. Doors will open at 5:30 PM. We will begin serving dinner shortly after that. The evening's presentation will run from 6:30-7:30 PM. Childcare will be available during the presentation. Transportation is available upon request. HAHS Students and Families
At this time barring any changes in weather, the high school is still planning to hold our homecoming parade as normal starting at 2:00 pm today. High school students will be dismissed from school at 1:30 pm to set up and observe the parade. Any student needing to ride the bus home will need to report back to school in order to get on the bus at the regular time.
If we were to get heavy rain and need to cancel the parade, students would be in school the remainder of the day and the pep assembly would be pushed back till the end of the day.

HAHS Info and Reminders:
This Friday is the deadline for Freshmen to have their IL state physical form and proof of shots turned into the office and for Seniors to turn in proof of their meningitis shot. Students not in compliance will not be allowed to come to the school beginning on Monday, October 18th, until they turn in this information or bring in an appointment card showing an upcoming appointment from their Doctor.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are next week on Wednesday, October 20th, and Thursday, October 21st from 3:00-6:30 pm. The high school will be hosting in-person conferences this year during both nights. As a reminder, visitors will be required to wear masks while in the building. If parents are needing a virtual option for parent-teacher conferences, please reach out to your student's teacher(s) to set up a time to meet virtually.

Students in basic Ag science class spent the last two days learning about fuels from crops. Today the students conducted a lab that shows fermentation on a smaller scale. The students will check back on their projects before leaving school today and then again tomorrow during class to see how much their balloon blows up!
