
Congratulations to Maddie Barnes for earning All Tournament Team honors at the Oakwood Thanksgiving Tournament. She averaged 16 points per game and scored 29 points against Rantoul making 8 3point baskets! We are so proud of you!


Hoopeston Area Athlete Addy Kelnhofer is in the running for News Gazette Athlete of the Week for being a solid scoring option for the Cornjerkers in the Oakwood Comet Classic, putting up 17 points in a win over Westville and 16 in a win over Covington. There will be a Middle School Volleyball Parent/Player meeting on Monday Nov. 25 at 5:30 pm in the High School Library.

Mrs. Mac's Life Skills Class at the Middle School got to make Scarecrow Munch (Trail Mix) to deliver to teachers for World Kindness Day today! Students got to work on following visual recipe, basic kitchen skills, and delivery skills! Happy World Kindness Day!

Congratulations to Ms. Kennedy (1st), Mrs. Garrison (2nd), and Mrs. Judy (3rd), for winning this year's Red Ribbon Week Door Decorating Contest at Hoopeston Area Middle School. All of the doors this year were terrific.










The Hoopeston community was treated to memorable performances from the HAMS Band and Choir this evening!! A special thank you to our Band and Chorus directors for their efforts in preparing our students for this event.





Mrs. Mac's Life Skills class got to pick apples while working on functional communication, money math, and life skills. Thank you so much Curtis Orchard for being accommodating with us! We can't wait to make a fun treat with our apples!

Mrs. Lee’s HAMS newspaper class spent eight weeks learning about newspaper structure, writing, photography, interviewing, and style. And last week, the first issue of the 2024-25 Cornjerker Times was printed. Congratulations to the Cornjerker Times staff on your excellent work!

The HAMS 8th Grade Honors ELA class wrapped up their suspense unit by writing suspenseful narrative stories. Students shared their stories around the “campfire” while eating s’mores. And classmates voted for the first 2024-25 winners of the “Lee-Sie Award of Literary Excellence.”
