Hoopeston Area Families,
Hoopeston Area Schools is excited to announce that we will be hosting a family networking and support event called Building Your Village. There is an old saying that it takes a village to raise a child. In that spirit, we invite you to attend this event to help grow your support circle, aka Your Village.
Parenting is both rewarding and challenging. Our goal is to provide support to parents for those challenging times. Join us on September 23rd at the Multi Agency for a relaxing evening filled with food, socializing, raffles, and local agencies sharing information about their services. Doors will open at 5:30 PM. Dinner will begin at 6:00 PM. We will be having a taco bar provided by La Casa del Sol. There will be a presentation from 6:30-7:30 PM filled with ideas to help you set yourself up for success at home. Childcare will be available for those that attend the presentation. Transportation is also available upon request.
Please complete the RSVP linked on the District's page if you plan to attend. The deadline for RSVPs is September 10th. We hope to see you there!
Maple's newest additions joined the building today! We were super happy to have them here! It is hard being five and going to school all day! It takes some getting used to! I am sure you will have some sleepy five year olds tonight! See you tomorrow for more fun!
Maple Families
School starts tomorrow, August 18th for our 1st and 2nd graders! Maple wanted to pass along some important information.
Pick and Dismissal Information for Maple School:
Arrival
-Students may arrive at school between 7:55 and 8:20
-School starts at 8:20
-Kindergarten students enter through the North doors
-1st and 2nd graders enter through the East doors
-Breakfast will be served to all students
Dismissal:
-Mrs. Hofer and Miss Cade’s classes will dismiss on the corner of 3rd and Lincoln Street.
-Miss Morton, Miss Acton, Miss Troxel and Mrs. Miller will dismiss out the North main door on Lincoln.
-Miss Deck and Mrs. Cloud’s classes will dismiss out East door on 4th Street
-Miss Taylor and Mrs. Fares/Martin's classes will dismiss out North door near Lending Library
-Mrs. Knapp and Mrs. Weston’s classes will dismiss out South door on Maple Street
-Mrs. Rush and Miss Sutton’s classes will dismiss out East door on 4th Street
Please remember you must park your car to pick up your child. For the safety of our children, you cannot pick up in the middle of the road.
A more detailed Maple Handbook Addendum will be sent home with your student this week.

I can’t wait to have my full staff back today! Maple has an amazing staff and they have been working hard to make the building beautiful for their students! Maple Picture Day!

The Maple staff is looking forward to an amazing year! We wanted to pass along some start of the year information.
First graders, second graders and Miss Troxel’s class will hold a Meet the Teacher Night on Monday, August 16th, from 5-6 PM. All attendees will need to wear a mask. Please have your students bring their school supplies and come meet their new teacher! Please enter through the North doors.
First and second graders start school on Wednesday, August 18th. School starts at 8:20 sharp and will dismiss at 2:05. Thursday, August 19th will be their first full day. School runs from 8:20 to 3:05. First and second graders enter the building through the East doors.
Kindergarten students and their parents will participate in a Kindergarten Meet the Teacher on Wednesday, August 18th. Kindergarten students and their adult will need to bring their supplies and meet their teacher anytime from 9:00-10:30 or 12:00-1:30. All attendees must wear a mask. Please bring all required paperwork and enter through the north doors. Please leave siblings at home so the focus of the day can remain on your kindergarten student.
Kindergarten students start their first full day on Thursday, August 19th. Their day runs the same as the rest of the building. Students may arrive anytime between 7:55 and 8:20 and their day ends at 3:05. Kindergarten students enter through the north doors.
PreK students will be contacted by their teachers regarding beginning of the year plans.

Maple is hosting a Get To Know Your PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) Meet and Greet on Monday, August 9th, from 6:00-7:00.
This event is for parents only and will be held outside the Maple office. Please leave your children at home and come learn about the PTO!
If you have wanted an opportunity to volunteer at your child's school, come by and see what we are all about! Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!

The Registration link will be open for 72 hours beginning at 8:30 on August 2nd. (August 2nd-4th).
All assistance will be provided at your child's school except for John Greer. Due to construction, John Greer's registration assistance will be held at Maple Grade School.
If you did not get a snap code, and you have been a student in the district, call your child's office (John Greer students will need to call the Maple office).
If you are new to the district, please take two proofs of residency to the school to register.

Maple families: Registration snap codes were mailed home today. Please save this information for online registration that begins August 2nd. All students, including incoming kindergarten students, need to register as a returning student as we already have you in our system. The only students that should register as new to CUSD #11 are students that have never registered with our district. Please check your mail for this important information.

Maple kindergarten parents…. Remember to schedule your child’s physical, shots, and eye exam so they are ready to start school. They also need a dental exam, but those are offered at school later in the year.

Hoopeston Area's K-5 summer schoolers have had a busy week! Today Mrs. Kellerhals' and Miss Rattin's class participated in a readers theater!
