HAHS Students and Parents: Starting in March, Hoopeston Area High School will begin providing in-person instruction five days a week. That means for our current in-person students, starting on March 3rd, students will be attending in-person on Wednesday’s each week as well. We will continue to dismiss at 12:20 each day as we have so far this year. For our remote learning students, this means that starting in March, Wednesday mornings will no longer be available for you to set up appointments and come in for one on one help. Remote learners still have the opportunity to utilize the afternoons throughout the week to set up appointments and times to meet with instructors and get help on their work. For our in-person students, on Wednesdays, we will continue utilizing a block schedule as we currently do throughout the rest of the week.

HAHS Sophomore and Junior Students and Parents: On this Thursday, February 11th, Hoopeston Area High School will be holding an AP/Dual Credit Night at 6:00 pm in the auditorium for students and parents. AP and Dual Credit are two excellent ways to get a jump start on college or a career during your junior and senior years. Mr. Lawson, HAHS School Counselor, will be discussing with attendees what AP and Dual Credit are and how students can benefit from these programs. We hope to see you there! #CornjerkerPride

Scheduling for the 2021-22 school year is underway!! Our school counselor, Mr. Lawson, is beginning to meet with students in their English classes to go over the the course handbook and course options for next year. Students will be given course planning sheets to take home where they can begin to plan out what classes they are wanting to take for next year. #CornjerkerPride

HAHS Students and Families: This is just a reminder that while other schools within the district are beginning instruction tomorrow, Hoopeston Area High School will not resume instruction for the 2nd semester until Thursday, January 7th. Students, please make sure that you before Thursday you check InfoNow to confirm your schedule for 2nd semester and also that you charge your Chromebook. Also parents please remember that if you are wanting to make a change in your student’s placement and switch them from either remote learning back to in-person or from in-person to remote learning, please contact the school office this week to make that change. The open enrollment period to make changes lasts only through this Friday, January 8th. #CornjerkerPride

On behalf of the entire staff at HAHS, I would like to wish all of our students and families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are so proud of all of our students for the hard work and effort they put in during the first semester. I want to also remind everyone that the open enrollment period for next semester will run from Monday, January 4th through Friday January, 8th. If any parent is wanting to switch their student to remote learning or switch them back to in-person learning for the second semester we ask that you call the office during that week to let us know. HAHS Announcements and Reminders: Picture Retakes: The final date for Picture retakes will be tomorrow, Tuesday, December 1st from 11- noon. Reminder if you are having your picture retaken, you need to bring in your original picture packet and turn it into the photographer. If you have not had your picture taken yet, please do so for your student id and for the yearbook. STUDENTS: December 14th thru the 18th is finals week for semester one. For First Semester Final Exams, all students are expected to take their finals. First Semester Final Exam grades can only HELP your grades, not hurt them. This policy is in effect for First Semester Only. There is still 2 more weeks before finals. Please make sure that all your grades are up and passing before the end of the semester. If you are having trouble, please make sure you are setting up appointments to meet with your teachers one on one either in-person or virtually to get your grades up if you are needing help. #CornjerkerPride
