We encourage all freshmen and their parents to attend to gain information about this coming year. After the meeting, students and parents will have an opportunity to walk through the high school to find their classes and to tour the school. Then tomorrow, Wednesday, August 16th, freshmen are invited to attend an in-depth orientation session to get them ready for this year. This is put on by our Link Crew, who have a lot of great things lined up for our incoming freshmen. It will be held from 9:00-11:00 am at the high school. Tonight was the parent showcase for this year's marching band camp. The Marching Cornjerkers performed the first two songs of this year's "Of Myths and Monsters" show. The band and flag corps did great! It is going to be an amazing show this year! Make sure to mark your calendars and come see the Marching Cornjerkers this year at our home football games and their competitions! #CornjerkerPride

Also, as a reminder, all incoming freshmen need to have a physical completed. Please note a sports physical can not count as the freshmen physical. Also, seniors need to make sure to bring in proof of their meningitis vaccination. #CornjerkerPride

As a reminder, if the student is an incoming 6th or 9th grader, they must have a regular school physical that will count as their sports physical for the year. I’m writing to share a scholarship opportunity with the students grade 9-12.
The Vivek Ramaswamy American Identity Scholarship is a $25,000 scholarship that will be given to 10 students who best answer the question “what does it mean to be an American?” in a two-minute video.
The 10 winners will be selected by a panel of judges to each receive a $25,000 scholarship for post-secondary education (college or technical/vocational school), entrepreneurial endeavors, or their commitment to serve in the military or law enforcement.

HAHS Reminder:
This is just a reminder that in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday on Monday, June 19th, there will be no summer school or Project Success this coming Monday. Summer School and Project Success will resume on Tuesday, June 20th.

This year we are very excited to have had 9 of our amazing FFA students attend the Illinois State FFA Convention. We are very proud of them and our chapter! Earlier this year members of our Hoopeston Area FFA traveled to Black Hawk College to compete in the Illinois Association FFA State Horse CDE! Members who participated were Jessalyn Eisenmann, Wyatt Eisenmann, Charissa Johnson, and Anna Anderson.
Our team placed first in the Non-Reasons Division, and Jessalyn Eisenmann placed first in individuals!! In the Non-Reasons Division, 57 Schools, 49 Teams, and 198 Individuals competed. Our team was honored yesterday at the Illinois State FFA Convention! Congratulations to our team on their hard work! Congratulations to Jessalyn on her first place finish! Your school couldn't be prouder of you!! #CornjerkerPride




Congratulations to our very own Taylor Page, who auditioned and made it into the state FFA band! She performed last night with the honor band at the Illinois State FFA Convention! What an accomplishment to achieve! Way to go Taylor! Your school is very proud of you! #CornjerkerPride

HAHS Students,
This is just a reminder that finals begin tomorrow, Tuesday, May 23, with finals 3rd and 8th HR. On Wednesday, May 24, there are finals in 2nd, 4th, and 6th HS. Finally, on Thursday, May 25, we have finals during 1st, 5th, and 7th HR. After finals, all students must turn in their charged Chromebook, case, and charger into the office to be cleaned and prepared for next year. If your student has been able to be exempted out of finals, they are still required to bring their Chromebook to be turned in before the end of the school year. #CornjerkerPride

If you are in Hoopeston…. Step outside or come downtown to support these two amazing track athletes, Bre and Claire who made it all the way to the last day of the HS girl’s track season…. Finals at the State Track Meet. They will be getting a police/fire escort through town at 5:30.
