HAHS Marching Band Performs as Liberty Bowl

Over Christmas break, the Hoopeston Are High School Marching Band traveled to Memphis, Tennessee, to perform live at the Liberty Bowl.

The Marching Cornjerkers were selected by a panel of judges before we got to Memphis to perform a portion of their Fall Production at the Liberty Bowl. The kids ended up performing for a full stadium of 58,000 people.

The Marching Cornjerkers, in conjunction with several other high school bands, also performed in a halftime performance with the band “Starship.”

Our students participated in an adjudicated parade down Beale Street. The Marching Cornjerkers placed 3rd overall.

Finally, the band also participated in a field show competition where they showcased their Fall production, “An American Portrait,” and placed 1st and received the “Best Music” caption award.

Congratulations to director Brian Zielinski and the HAHS Marching Cornjerkers on a fantastic job!  Also, thank you to all of our students, parents, and music boosters who helped make this trip possible!
