Question up for vote in April

Good Afternoon Hoopeston Area Families,

The Hoopeston Area CUSD #11 Board of Education passed a resolution to place the following question  before the voters on April 4, 2023. The question will look like this:

Shall members of the Board of Education of Hoopeston Area Community Unit School District No. 11, Vermilion, Iroquois, and Ford Counties, Illinois, be elected in 2025 and thereafter, at large and without restriction by area of residence within the district instead of the current that four (4) members on the board of education shall be selected from Grant Township 23N Range 12W congressional township and the remaining three (3) members of the board of education shall be selected from other townships in the school district?

Board of education members will be selected by voters in 2023 by their geographical location. If this question were to be voted in, the at large elections would not begin until 2025.
