Hoopeston Area families,
This is a message from Superintendent Robert Richardson. We are touching base to let you know that Hoopeston Area schools will be using an E-learning day on Thursday October 22, 2026. The district has been managing an issue with Carbon Dioxide levels in the kitchen area of the high school. We were given the all-clear earlier in the day, however a check of the system this evening has revealed an issue with inconsistent ventilation due to a faulty exhaust fan on the kitchen hood. We are working on the repair and hope to have it resolved tomorrow. Out of an abundance of caution, we will use an E-earning day for October 22nd. Parent teacher conferences will take place as scheduled. Thank you.
