This is Superintendent Robert Richardson I am sending this message to keep you updated about a situation that was causing a very unpleasant odor primarily in the H.S. girls locker room. After some attempts to locate the cause of this problem, plumbing experts were called in and the root cause was discovered to be a clogged drain for the kitchen dishwasher and garbage disposal. which caused some material to back up into the H.S. tunnel. Professional environmental cleaning services have cleaned the area that was impacted. All drains have been cleared and we anticipate that the issues will be resolved and the odor will soon dissipate. The girls locker room was closed off as we attempted to determine the nature of the problem and we anticipate it will be opened when the order has completely dissipated.
