Automated School Bus Stop-Arm Enforcement Notice
Hoopeston Area Schools is committed to student safety. In accordance with 625 ILCS 5/11‑208.9(m), this notice is to inform the public that certain school buses in our district are equipped with automated traffic law enforcement systems (stop-arm cameras).
These systems are designed to capture vehicles that illegally pass a school bus when its stop arm is extended. Violations recorded by these systems may result in a citation being issued to the registered owner of the vehicle.
The use of these cameras helps ensure the safety of our students while boarding or exiting school buses. All buses equipped with these cameras are clearly posted with signage indicating their presence.
