HOOPESTON AREA CUSD #11

Facility Improvement projects

As we look forward to the beginning of the 2025-26 School year, we wanted to share with you some of the improvements that have been made to the HA facilities.

Weightroom

The weight room was improved with the removal of a dividing wall to enlarge the space, a coat of paint and new rubber flooring were added, and  some newer pieces of strength training equipment.

Music Practice Rooms & Storage

The band room in HAHS has reimagined practice rooms, office area, and instrument storage. Soundproofing has been enhanced with drywall and insulation. With the addition of carpet tile on the floor and a coat of paint, the musicians have a fresh new area for individual practice or lessons and to house their instruments.

Hoopeston Area Represented Fully

During the construction of the cafeteria the community names on the exterior wall had to be removed from the front of the gymnasium. The communities that make up Hoopeston Area are once again represented in a prominent location for all to see. We have also installed newer lighting which illuminates the parking lot as well as the names of the Hoopeston Area communities, both day and night.

Track Resurfacing

The all weather track is ready to be utilized for the new school year. It has been lined, re-surfaced, and a drain has been installed to protect the surface from standing water.

Softball Field

The Hoopeston Area softball team and spectators will see some awesome changes to their field. A new playing surface was installed. Also, new 30’ backstop net and padding have been added to the facilities. Expanding the dugouts and new outfield fencing are scheduled as future improvements.

Steps & ADA Ramp at Maple

As students enter Maple School on the 2nd grade wing, they will be greeted by newly poured steps and a ramp to navigate into the building. The ramp will assist school and community members as they participate in the school life and activities at Maple School.

HAHS Welding Facility Improvements

The AG shop at HAHS is getting a new exhaust system and increasing the number of welding booths to six, with the capability for future expansion. An electrical upgrade is also being completed to accommodate the extra welders and equipment necessary for the shop.

Along with the upgrades and projects to improve and maintain our schools, our custodians and summer crew got our buildings cleaned and polished for the new school year. A big THANK YOU to the individuals working on the summer crew and everyone involved in improving our schools.
