Cadet Band consists of first-year players (4th graders and beginning 5th graders). Rehearsals for this group are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:00-3:45. Additionally, students receive one 25-minute individual or small group lesson during the school day each week. Performances include the Winter Concert, Grandparents Day, and the Spring Concert. Skills learned in Cadet Band cover posture, instrument care, production of sound, notes and rhythms, and other music fundamentals. 

Concert Band consists of 5th graders who participated in band the previous year. Rehearsals for this group are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 7:15-8:00 AM, and students also receive one 25-minute individual or small group lesson each week. Performances include the Winter Concert, Recitals, Grandparents Day, Spring Concert, and Spring Tour. Skills learned in Concert Band build upon the knowledge and skills learned in Cadet Band and prepare students for participation in the middle school band.
