Quentin Ryder

Coach Ryder started the Cross Country program in 1967 at Hoopeston and coached it for 33 years.  He held the Illinois State High School Association record for most wins in Cross Country (311-159) from 1967-1999.  He now stands at 3rd place.  Coach is tied for 1st place in most dual meet wins at one school .

Coach Ryder coached individual champions and medalists in conference and major area meets.  Five harriers, including two runners-up, combined for eight all-state performances in the state finals.  Three teams finished in the top twelve at state, including a third place trophy.  He coached teams that won championships in conference and major area meets multiple times.

In Track Coach Ryder had individual champions and medalists at state, conference, and major area meet levels.  Assistant or head coach in three top-ten team finishes at the state finals and coached multiple championships in conference and major area meets.
