Tom McBride

Tom McBride graduated from Hoopeston High School in 1966. During his high school basketball career he had many awards and accomplishments. Tom wasunanimously voted All Vermilion County in basketball during the 1965-64 and 1965-66 seasons. He was unanimously voted All Wauseca Conference in 1964-65 (he led in scoring that year) and again in 1965-66. Tom lettered in 3 sports during high school– Basketball (2), Football (2) and Track (1).

                After graduating in 1966, Tom went on to play basketball at Southern Illinois University. He earned his “Freshmen numerals” and 2 Varsity letters while at SIU. As acollege freshmen he average 13.3 points per game. He played in 18 games as a sophomore and was the primarily the“6th man” as a Junior.  Tom played for LegendarySIU coach Jack Hartman.
