Beth Carpenter

Beth Carpenter was a physical education teacher and coach at Hoopeston East Lynn/Hoopeston Area High School from 1984-1999.  She coached 8th grade girl’s basketball for one year, 8th grade girl’s volleyball for 12 years, varsity high school volleyball for 14 years, girls and boys high school track in both assistant and head coach capacities for 13 years, and girl’s softball for 1 year.

Her volleyball teams compiled a 226-124 (.646) record during her 14 years that included winning 10 regional titles, 4 sectional titles, 2 super-sectional titles, 2 elite 8 appearances and state runner up in 1989.

She coached the 1987 track team that finished 4th in the state and coached other successful track teams that produced individual state qualifiers and medalists.

In the fall of 1999, Beth took a job as the physical education student teaching coordinator at Illinois State University where she still works.
