Harland Cade


Harland Cade attended John Greer High School from 1928-1932. Cade played football and basketball for four years while attending John Greer. He also had the privilege of playing ball for Glenn Brasel. Cade was the captain of the football team his senior year.

Harland went on to continue his football career at Southern Illinois Teachers College, which is now Southern Illinois University. There he played four years of football before graduating in 1939.

After earning his education degree, he taught in Rosiclair, Illinois for four years and Hoopeston for one year before going to work at FMC.

He began an oil business with Charles Fuller in t 1945 and operated services and a restaurant in Hoopeston in 1977.
Harland passed away on September 24, 2000.
