David Busch

David Busch began his basketball career in 1982. He was a four year starter for the basketball team. David and his teammates went to the IHSA State Finals 1984-1986. During High School, David won many awards and had numerous athletic achievements. These achievements include:

In High School David averaged 16.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. He had a total of 1,235 career points. When he graduated in 1986 he received a full scholarship to play Division I at Southern Illinois University. (SIU)

Dave helped Coach Root’s varsity basketball teams, installing “Jerker Pride” and teaching team building skills whenever he was back in town.  Even though he has been away from the program for awhile, he is still proud to call himself a “Cornjerker”.

Dave lives in the Atlanta area with his wife and kids, and is the Capital Project Manager of KIK Custom Products (managing North America US engineering support, projects and reliability improvements).
