HAMS Families,

Here are this week's remote learning activities.  (Note:  They are divided up by grade level.) Please reach out to your teachers via Google Classroom or email if you have questions.  You are only expected to complete the activities assigned by the teachers on your schedule.  However, if you see other items that look interesting, feel free to complete those, as well.  Remember, you are loved and missed very much.  Stay safe and healthy!

Week of:  3/30-4/3

Directions:  Complete each assignment listed below.  All materials will be posted on Google Classroom.  If you need to pick up hard copies of the materials, the building will be open on Monday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, or by appointment (email Mrs. White- whiteml@hoopeston.k12.il.us).

6th Grade

ELA

1.) Read AR for 20 minutes each day

2.) Edgenuity for 20 minutes each day

3.) Complete quarantine journal entry #1

Math

  4. The tasks can be completed at anytime for the paper copies, however, the activities will be scheduled on the Google classrooms page. 

Berryman

  1. Work on Aleks daily

  2. Have some create 5 word problems with money and solve them

Science

Wells--

1)Investigating Types of Rocks activity

2) “Cooling the Lava” Earth Science Lesson 11 Reading One on IQWST or packet version

3) Watch an episode of “Rock the Park.”  You can find these on YouTube or on Saturday morning on ABC Channel 15 at 10am.  Answer the questions in the packet or on Google classroom.

Soderstrom

1. (Google Classroom) Life Science Assessment project: begin research and organize your thoughts on required components numbers 1-3. (Internet can be used, remember to link your sources. Our in class packets can be used to help with this as well.) I want to stress that you do not need to make the final slides or paragraphs for it, use this time to gather information and research which you could put into your slides or paragraphs later. Please don't overwork yourselves.

2. (Google Classroom) Pick one of the marine animals listed on the quick links and read through the text and take notes of anything that we have talked about in class.

1). CNN10 VIew Daily and complete a write-up each day-Complete on Google Classroom/For students who do not have internet access watch the news on television and use the paper copy of television news write-up form
