Public Notice: Destruction of Special Education Records
Hoopeston Area School District plans to destroy all temporary special education records of students who have transferred, graduated or who have otherwise permanently withdrawn from school by the end of the 2013-14 school year. The destruction of these records will take place on or after January 2, 2020.
Information to be destroyed includes: intelligence test scores, evaluations, IEPs, psychological reports, social/developmental histories and other data classified as “temporary records” in the Illinois Student Records Act [150 ILCS 1-/4(f)] .
The files will not include academic transcripts, attendance records or other records contained in a student’s permanent record.
Parents/guardians or students aged 18 and over may claim their special education records by contacting Rick Brackmann at the district office (217.283.6663) no later than December 19, 2019.
